Tra queens prize meeting, inc. match rifle and 1500 yd championships

The TRA will hold its Match Rifle Championships, 1500 yard Championships, Priory Ridge Wines Series and Queens Prize Meeting from the 4th to 14th March 2022 at Campbell Town Rifle Range, Torlesse St., Campbell Town, Tasmania.

How to Enter

There are two ways to enter:

Download and print the form in the link to the right. Complete the form and return it via mail with your payment to the address at the foot of the form.
Alternatively, return the completed form via email and direct deposit your entry fee to the TRA Bank account as per the details in the form.


Alternative Entry Method

Visit the link to the right. This will take you to an online entry form that will collect the information we need to process your entry. You must fill in all fields. Shortly after submitting the form you will receive an acknowledgement via email.
Within a day you will receive a follow up email with a request for payment.
Once your payment has been received you will receive a receipt in the form of a completed entry detailing the events you have entered.


Getting Here, with your firearms and ammunition

If you are flying in, you will be entering Tasmania via either Hobart or Launceston airport. These airports are serviced by JetStar, Virgin or Rex/ Please consult your airline for their  carriage of firearm and ammunition requirements

If you are driving, you will be coming on the Spirit of Tasmania.  The Spirit leave Port Melbourne twice daily during the busy season and arrives in Devonport approximately 12 hours later. On some days it will be one departure per day.

If you are bringing firearms and ammunition you will need a to fill in a Declaration – use the link to the right.

Price Warning. – The longer you delay your booking the more expensive the ferry will become. As the ferry bookings fill, vehicle space availability decreases,  the relative scarcity of available vehicle space is reflected by an increase in price.

Conditions of Entry

  • The Council of the Tasmanian Rifle Association Incorporated reserves the right to alter the program in any way it may deem necessary.

  • STANDARD SHOOTING RULES of the NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA LTD. in force at the time of all competitions shall apply.

  • GRADING: Grading for Match Rifle will be based on current AMRA averages. For the PRW Series and Queen’s, all competitors grading will be based on current NRAA averages.

  • ALL MATCHES are open to any registered member of a Rifle Club duly affiliated with a State/Territory Rifle Association affiliated to the National Rifle Association of Australia Ltd., a member of the Australian Defence Forces and any visitor who is a bona fide member of a Rifle Club in the place of his/her domicile AND whose entry is accepted by the Executive Committee upon payment of the prescribed fee.

  • AMMUNITION sold by the T.R.A. at the meeting and handloads may be used. TRA price for factory ammunition at the time of the prize meeting will be charged.

  • MARKING The Match Rifle and the ‘Merton Vale’ 1500 yard Championship will be manual marking. All other events will be electronic marking.

  •  This will be a Covid Safe Event. Competitors will be required to either sign the attendance book or use the ‘Check In TAS’ app daily upon entry to the range – NO EXCEPTIONS. Any other regulations imposed by TAS Health will be implemented by the TRA and competitors and visitors will be required to conform.
